Hilton Grand Vacations enables us to travel our way, whether cruising around the world or spending time with family and friends in stateside destinations. When we first became Members, we were big cruisers, exploring Europe via river or visiting port cities from an ocean liner. However, due to the pandemic, we had to cancel several cruise vacations and find a new way to fulfill our need to explore.

 

We had enough HGV ClubPoints to visit great getaways closer to home — usually destinations we wouldn’t have considered if we stuck to cruising.

As we explored these properties, we noticed they felt like homes away from home. Many Suites boast open living rooms, fully equipped kitchens, large bedrooms and peaceful outdoor spaces. Several are beachfront resorts with expansive balconies and on-site amenities.

It was the perfect place to bring together family and friends.

Our Adventures With Family And Friends

 

Hawaii

We are sisters (and neighbors), but our siblings are across the United States. Our brothers in California often meet us in Hawaii. One brother lived in Hawaii and knows the islands well.

And since Hawaii is one of the boys’ favorite destinations, they are eager to vacation with us at the high-end Hilton Grand Vacations resorts. During our visits, we share laughter and create memories.

South Carolina

When travels take us to South Carolina, our other sister’s family joins us from Virginia. Given their hectic schedules, our sister and her husband don’t take much time to unwind.

But when we meet at our favorite Hilton Grand Vacations properties, we relax and catch up while enjoying beautiful ocean views. Unlike cruises, we don’t worry about making our appointed dining times or catching excursions. Our time is our time.

Our most memorable family trip was to Ocean Oak Resort, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club in the summer of 2020. We booked a few nights during the resort’s peak season and invited Megan (Laura’s niece and Lee’s daughter) and her friend to join us.

One night, we relaxed in the living room with our sister and overheard raucous laughter coming from the girls’ room. We assumed they were enjoying a comedy on TV or some funny pet videos. We later found out the girls were checking out a dating app and texting guys they met online. They each connected with young men whom they would date for several months.

Megan married her date last August and honeymooned with her husband at Borgo alle Vigne, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club in Italy. We’re thrilled that we can gift the newlyweds a week in this romantic setting — a gift likely impossible without our Hilton Grand Vacations membership.

 

Make The Most Of Membership With Loved Ones

We needed more than our initial point allotment to meet our appetite for adventure. We’ve grown our membership in the past few years and can now travel with Hilton Grand Vacations several weeks a year. We even have enough points to accommodate family and friends on our memorable vacations.

We truly make the most of our Hilton Grand Vacations membership, creating more memories than we thought possible.

We’re convinced Megan wouldn’t have met her husband if she and her friend had not accompanied us to Ocean Oak Resort that summer.
