Our story with HGVC, as it was known then, began in 1994 during a family trip to Las Vegas, where my mom and dad purchased their first membership. At the time, vacation clubs and vacation membership programs were rapidly gaining popularity, and the Hilton brand was already highly respected for its gold-standard hospitality.
Buying Our First HGV Membership At Flamingo Las Vegas
Curious about how the program worked, my parents attended a sales presentation located on the top floor of the resort. They learned how a points-based system could secure spacious accommodations year-round across HGV-branded properties. Back then, some of the most notable destinations in the United States included Hawaii, Las Vegas, California and Florida.
While the program's flexibility was a major benefit, what truly sealed the deal was their conversation with our salesperson, KJ. She assured my parents that their investment was secure for the future and that ownership could someday be passed down to my sister and me.
We still fondly remember visiting the property with my parents as new Members and seeing their names proudly displayed on the original Owners' plaque in the lobby. It was truly the launchpad for a lifetime of travel.

The resort has given us so many vibrant memories. We have made lifelong friends with fellow members while lounging by the pool, exchanging travel stories and sharing recommendations for future trips.
From world-class concerts and visits to The Mob Museum to interactive mixology classes, spa days, foodie tours, fine dining experiences and, most recently, the excitement of Formula One, Las Vegas always delivers.
Today, my sister and I return often, and it still feels like our second home. Over the years, we've watched the resort evolve through beautiful lobby renovations, refreshed accommodations and enhancements to the exterior and pool areas. Years ago, there was even a small children's pool next to the main pool. Through every update, Hilton Grand Vacations’ commitment to maintaining high standards has remained clear, which is especially important for owners and those considering ownership.
The convenient location and comfortable accommodations make every stay feel effortless. The fully equipped kitchens and attentive staff help make each visit even more enjoyable. In fact, every time we return to Flamingo, the team greets us with a warm "Welcome home," a wonderful reminder that we truly have a home away from home.

Building A Family Legacy Through Travel
What began with that single meaningful purchase in Las Vegas eventually grew to include a beautiful portfolio of additional properties in South Beach, Orlando and Hawaii.
Today, Flamingo, a Hilton Grand Vacations Clubremains one of our favorite HGV Max destinations, a place that continues to hold a permanent spot on our travel calendar as we return to relax, reconnect and create new memories.
What my parents started back in 1994 has truly become a gift that keeps on giving. It is a legacy measured not only by the incredible destinations we have visited, but by the priceless, uninterrupted time we have shared with family and friends.
