Effective January 26, 2021, the CDC is requiring air passengers ages 2 and up to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test collected within 3 days before boarding a plane to the United States. An executive order requires all individuals traveling to or from a high-risk location for non-essential travel to self-quarantine for 14 days or for the duration of their stay, whichever is shorter, after they arrive in Washington, D.C. The District of Columbia requires everyone to maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from individuals who are not in their household unless such distancing is impossible to maintain. People also must wear a face covering in most public areas, including while in taxis, trains, subways and related stations and terminals.
